This unique collection contains the 100 most important etudes which are indispensable for the development of every piano player. The book evolved in close cooperation with piano teachers, and is the result of the painstaking review of hundreds of studies. Only the educationally most valuable ones were selected. The collection is unique in its quality and quantity, and avoids the expensive purchase of a wide range of individual publications. In putting the pieces together, special attention was paid to ensure that they are at the same time useful in terms of playing technique and musically appealing. In this way, technical and musical requirements can be effectively practised while musicality is fostered at the same time.
The selection ranges from Baroque, via Romanticism, down to modern studies by contemporary composers. It contains wonderful original compositions by Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny, Duvernoy, Gurlitt, Heller, Lemoine, Löschhorn, Schumann and many others. The book is divided into nine chapters, dealing systematically with all important aspects of piano playing. The degree of difficulty ranges from easy to moderately difficult.
All 100 studies were played live on the piano by Gerhard Kölbl and can be easily played as an audio sample with a smartphone or tablet via the corresponding QR code. Not only is the book suitable for piano lessons and self-study, but is also a real treasure of wonderful piano pieces.
